Key features of Magento 2 Pre Order

Pre-order for various product types

There are no restrictions on product types for pre-orders. Store owners can set pre-order status for any product, including simple, configurable, grouped, and bundle products. This flexibility lets you offer pre-order options for all products, regardless of their attributes.

Pre-order based on specific conditions

Pre-order functionality is based on specific conditions. You can enable pre-orders for out-of-stock, upcoming products (with zero quantity), or when the stock quantity is less than the customer’s demand. The extension automatically applies the pre-order status based on these conditions.

Display the expected available date

Admins can display an expected availability date for pre-order products using the “Stock Status” label. The date can be a specific day or estimated based on the current date, providing customers with clear expectations on when the product will be in stock.

Customizable pre-order labels

Customize the labels for pre-order items, including the “Add to Cart” button, stock status, and page notifications. You can modify these labels in the backend for better customer experience, and additional templates are available through the installation of Magento 2 product badges.

Pre-order notifications

Set up notifications to inform customers about product availability. The notification message adjusts based on product conditions, such as when a product is out-of-stock, upcoming, or available in limited quantities. This ensures customers are always aware of their pre-order status.

Other features

Pre-orders management

You can easily manage pre-orders by creating, editing, or deleting any previous orders directly from the backend. This ensures smooth order management, making it simple to track and update pre-order statuses for your customers.

Notice on email

Create and customize email templates to notify customers about their pre-order status. This includes sending order confirmations and availability updates, ensuring customers are always informed about their pre-ordered items.

Notice on invoice

Pre-order details are automatically included in the PDF invoices, showing the pre-order status and expected availability. This provides customers with full transparency on their pre-ordered products, enhancing trust and clarity.

Extension compatibility

The Magento 2 Pre-order extension is compatible with 3 modules, including One Step Checkout, Store Locator, and Store Pickup, providing a seamless integration for a better user experience and streamlined order processing.

I saw this extension after the Custom stock status extension and I immediately thought of some of the possible applications of this match. Like new product with custom stock Coming soon and then let customer pre-order the products or keep some product only on order. This extension is really useful, has a lot of applications and is really simple to install.

When customers see out-of-stock goods, they can still add it to carts and then pre-order, which is great because as the store, we have time to prepare the goods and customers still feel like the purchase process is not stopped mid-way.
