7,45 | 0,50 | 7,95 |
Step 4: Activate Hreflang
If your store has many language versions, the Hreflang metatag is essential. The tag is used to explicitly attribute the content to the appropriate language. It stops Google from identifying your shop’s different language versions as duplicate material.
After you enable the option, the drop-down menu displays all of your domains. Then, in this section, pick the default domain, which will act as a fallback for all languages.
Step 5: Set up Domain
Please keep in mind that the domain settings of a self-hosted version differ from those of a cloud version.
- Self-hosted Instance
You may build many domains for your sales channel under the Domain menu item, each with its own virtual URL, language, currency, and snippet set. This is required if you want to establish various language stores for a single shop.
By selecting the Add Domain button, you may access the box for adding an extra URL (1).
It is advised that the domain be registered with just one internet communication protocol (https:// or http://), otherwise duplicate material may be produced.
- Cloud Instance
A URL is already recorded in the standard system in a cloud instance. When the instance is created, this is generated automatically. If you wish to use your own, unique domain, you may do so by selecting the Add domain option (1). This requires that you have already added your own domain under Settings > System > Domains. You may also access the related menu by clicking on the link Set up individual domain (2).
Here’s where you can learn how to set up your own domain.
A server-side forwarding ensures that the connection is always made via https://.
Some parameters must be defined before a domain may be assigned to a sales channel:
- URL: In the URL selection field, you will be presented with any domains that are stored under Settings > System > Domains. If the requested domain is not shown here, please double-check that it was entered correctly.
- Path (optional): You can include a path in addition to the URL. This allows you to display your sales channel in many languages. Here, for example, the route “de” for the shop in German and “en” for the English translation are both possible.
- Language: Specify the language in which the shop shall be referred to when using this URL. You can select any of the languages allocated to the sales channel in the basic settings above.
- Currency: Specify which currency should be used when contacting the store via this URL. The currencies listed under Settings > Shop > Currencies can be selected. Snippet set: The snippet set specifies which snippets will be utilized. You may select snippets from the Settings > Shop > Snippets menu.
- Hreflang localization: In this section, you may specify how the hreflang attribute should be localized. When you use many languages in your business, this allows you to send the right translations to services like Google. We distinguish between ISO standard localization and localization based solely on the language used by the browser. Localization by ISO is important, for example, if you utilize several (country-specific) language versions, each of which may have its own country-specific terminology (e.g. in English or French)
Step 6: Create an API Access ID
You may create an API Access ID for this sales channel here. Please see developer documentation for additional details on how to utilize your own API accesses.
Step 7: Make changes to the Status
You can disable the sales channel here for a limited time. Visitors and the API are then briefly unable to access it. You may also enable the maintenance mode from here. The frontend will then simply show the layout of the maintenance page. You can give access to specific IP addresses by utilizing the whitelist.
When utilizing a proxy server, use caution.
When utilizing an extra proxy server, the IP address of the proxy must be stored in the.env configuration file (in the Shopware main directory) as a trusted proxy for IP whitelisting to operate properly. This is feasible by entering TRUSTED PROXIES=IP of the proxy.”
Alternatively, using the PHP settings, this is also doable.
Step 8: Delete Sales Channel
If you use this button to erase a product comparison, it will be permanently gone. This should only be done if the sales channel is no longer required.
Conclusion
As a business owner, you want to increase your product sales. There are other approaches that may be used, but multi-channel selling should be prioritized. When your items are only available on one platform, you limit brand visibility, consumer base, and, ultimately, the ability of your concept to generate sales. So, add many channels into your sales plan, bring your company in front of more customers, and watch as it expands. After all, a larger net nearly always catches more fish. We hope this tutorial will help you out with the expansion of your Shopware business in particular and online business in general.
